food from cart vendors. They figured the idea would work great in the upper Westchester area as well and they were right. After conducting extensive research on starting a restaurant, they put together a solid plan for execution. With money saved from working, as well as a loan, the owners ventured out on their own into one of the riskiest business to ever start from scratch. Not only have they been successful, but they've surpassed most fast food industry standards. The owners were able to break even within the first month of opening.
Their unique concept includes creating a national Indian chain around the country. The menu is kept very simple with a limited number of entrees, some daily specials, side dishes, and a variety of lassi (type of smoothie). The restaurant is targeted to a broad spectrum of patrons including businesses, high school & college students, elderly people, white collars, construction workers, guys and girls altogether.
Samosa Cabana currently employees 4 full-time and 3 part-time staff. The owners plan to rapidly expand into 3-5 locations within the next 5 years. The restaurant, located at 560 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY, is right opposite to the City Hall, on the intersection of 5th and North Avenue.
