The Collaboration Foundation grew out The 1 Second Film project and a desire to create non-profit art that can bring people around the world together in creative and non-violent ways. The idea is to provide a platform to explore the potential for global collaboration. With pro bono legal services from McDermitt, Will, and Emery, The Collaboration Foundation was incorporated as a non-profit in the state of California. We have put together a great Board of Directors to guide the project. Our Board includes Juli Taymor (Frida, Across the Universe), Albert Maysles (Grey Gardens), Stephen Nemeth (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Fields of Fuel), and Ben Goldhirsh (GOODmagazine.com).
The 1 Second Film has become the first non-profit collaborative film project that anyone in the world can be a part of, from celebrities to great grandmothers. Thousands of people around the world are working together to create the World's Biggest Shortest Film. All profits raised will benefit charity (the Global Fund for Women). The project is the start of The Collaboration Foundation's 5 Phase Plan to bring the world together, one-second at a time.
