Why:                Come out and help discover the next Teach For America Alumni Social Entrepreneur. A winner will receive $2,500 on the spot!

Teach For America and ideablob.com are coming together for an evening of fun and networking, and Teach For America is holding an ideas competition.   

Social entrepreneurs from Teach For America’s alumni community will pitch their ideas for a new educational venture and take questions from the crowd. Once all participants have presented, audience votes will be cast to select the best idea.

Teach for America will award the presenter with the most votes a $2,500 cash prize to get their social venture off the ground.  Ideablob is sponsoring this evening’s festivities. 

Who:               Ideablob.com is an active community where small business owners and entrepreneurs are sharing business ideas and receiving feedback, advice and support from the community.

Advanta, one of the nation’s largest credit card issuers (through Advanta Bank Corp.) in the small business market, awards a $10,000 monthly prize to the best eligible idea, as determined by the votes of the ideablob community.

Teach For America is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and become lifelong leaders in expanding educational opportunity.

Advanta Innovation Director Kelly LeDonni will present the alumni winner with the check.

Interview opportunities are available with Kelly LeDonni and Mike Wang, executive director of Teach For America – Greater Philadelphia-Camden, during the event.
