Blob Etiquette
If this is the first time you've joined a blob (we're guessing it is), we'd like to acquaint you with some of the principles that keep our blobosphere friendly, and the ideas flowing. Here's a simple way to remember - be a P-R-U-N-E.
Play fair
Cheaters never win, it's what you learned in grade school. Same applies here. You can only win by getting real votes - buying votes, spamming people for votes, raffling off prizes to get people to vote for you, and voting through fake user accounts, among other things, will disqualify you. We do track the votes.
R-E-S-P-E-C-T others
Take it from Aretha, and be respectful and constructive when giving advice and making comments. Insulting fellow blobbers will only make the blob angry. And nobody wants that.
Use common sense
Creativity, cutting-edge thinking and imagination make ideablob interesting. Obscene, discriminatory or abusive content make it not-so-nice. And the blob is also about originality, so please don't rip off other people's content or trademarks for your entries.
No soliciting
Remember, we're here to celebrate ideas. As you can see, this isn't the Home Shopping Network, so please don't bombard blobbers with your offers.
Engage
Everyone needs a little encouragement. Write comments, give advice and give off some positive karma. This good energy will come back to you in the form of ideas.
For a comprehensive look at all the rules and requirements of the blob, please check out the Website Terms & Conditions, the Submitter and Voter Terms & Conditions, and the Official Contest Rules on ideablob.com.
