Winner to be Selected by Community, Win $10,000

Spring House, PA (October 23, 2007) – Advanta Corp. (NASDAQ:ADVNB; ADVNA) today announced October’s eight ideablob.com finalists for the $10,000 monthly contest prize. They are: Jason Belanger of Jacksonville, FL; Alex Botham of Castle Rock, CO; Elizabeth Dehart of West Jordan, UT; James A. Gillmore of New York, NY; Thomas Krieglstein of Chicago, IL; Kerrin Russell of Laytonsville, MD; Scott Stadum of Washington, DC, and Georja Umano of Santa Monica, CA.

Launched by Advanta in September, ideablob.com is where small businesses and entrepreneurs can share and grow their business ideas – and have a chance to win $10,000 towards fulfilling them. The finalists include the top two winners from each of the first three weeks of October, as voted on by the ideablob.com community. In addition, the finalists include two contestants who received the most votes overall from the community throughout the first three weeks. more

ideablob.com community votes Tom Krieglstein's idea to develop freshman

orientation software as best business idea of the month

Spring House, PA (November 19, 2007) - Advanta Corp. (NASDAQ: ADVNB; ADVNA) today

announced October's ideablob.com $10,000 monthly contest winner for the best business idea, as voted

on by the ideablob community. Tom Krieglstein, 27, of Chicago, IL received the most votes for his idea to

develop freshman orientation software that integrates with popular online social networks to match

college students with other students, groups and courses.

Krieglstein is co-founder of Swift Kick, a Chicago-based education company whose mission is to increase

student engagement through leadership, technology and community. He plans on using the $10,000
