start a volunteer organization that collects clothing, bikes, toys, etc. to give to children who are orphans, homeless, or underprivileged. The organization would be held up and running by the support of the privileged neighbourhoods near the underpriviled areas, by way of money donations, volunteer work or donations of clothing, toys, bikes, or something of that sort. Th hope would be that the organization would grow until it could cover more cities, until it covered the entire nation, giving to the poor, by receiving from the rich. As long as the priviliged families were glad to help and were accepting of giving away what they don't need, the idea is completely plausible.

Also, is there any need for some other type of board?

There are advantages to not being a giant -- 1) coming into the industry with a fresh perspective, 2) the ability to make decisions and make change faster (no chain of command), and 3) there is no limit. The great thing is that if any of your first products flop, you can start building the next one. Continue to build off of the reputation with customers -- which starts with your friends, family, and neighbors....and a growing community of loyal customers that find you on the Internet, at the beach, etc....

I think it will be most beneficial to talk to pro long boarders and find out what they really want their next board to be like. Identify common trends and build a board that that will be enjoyed by the masses. The core of your research is to talk to as many people as you can and learn what the market wants.

Here is an interesting article on competing against giants:

JimmyBlueEyes challenges The Robin Hood Foundation - "receive from the rich, give ...

Mainly, should housing be including in this organization, or should it stick to simply giving necessities and other forms of entertainment to the orphans and underprivileged children i.e. toys and bikes? Also should money evr be given directly to the family even with the back ground checks?
