Create a film that will lead to freedom for millions in Burma
Idea Description
The project is a documentary film called The Road. The goal of the film is to develop awareness for the people of Burma and their continued fight for freedom. The Road is a story about the horror of genocide at its worst in Southeast Asia. Nestled between Thailand and India, Burma survives under an oppressive government, shut off from the world. The daily reality includes rape, murder, slavery, child soldiers, and the persecution of millions...

Q1: How do we get funding for a film?
What are some good avenues for getting this film out to the masses?
I think this is a wonderful project and something very deserving of the $10,000. I love that it is bringing awareness on an issue that many of us are unaware of. I can't wait to see the film and tell my friends about it. Wish you all the best!

powerful and worthwhile project... are you affiliated with a university or film school or is this a private venture?
Thank you for all of your comments, we are working hard to reach out to partners and funding resources. Stay tuned to us at theroadfilm.com
I'd look for documentary film funding sources online. I know they are out there and often don't get tapped as much as they can. Often, there are local organizations that provide funds, especially if you can create some tie to your home...i.e. the road from here to there...how it relates to you as the film maker.
fascinating. you guys deserve the $10,000 for raising awareness and spending your valuable time on a project like this. having said that, this is a tough sell. i see how tough it is to get the american public embracing darfur and that has received alot of publicity lately and even has celebrity support. this might sound crazy (nothing is crazier than what you have already undertaken), but you should reach out to george clooney and don cheadle to tell them what you are doing and get their feedback. i think that they would embrace your project. good luck!!!
