Round-Up/Down 4 Charity
Round-Up/Down 4 Charity
Idea Description
Every time a consumer purchase is made, every time a bill is paid and every time a paycheck is received, people could voluntarily donate to a charity. Here's how: When you buy anything under $10, or when you pay any bill, the price and amount you pay is rounded-up to the nearest nickel or dollar and this goes to charity. When you receive a paycheck, you authorize to round-down your net pay to the nearest $5 and the rounded amount is collected for charity.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?

Q1: Next, I would need a computer programmer who would be able to adopt and interface the round-up and round-down transaction into the myriad of computer point of purchase software programs, payroll software programs and bank/public utility payment programs so that the public will easily participate.
Just coming up with a concept for Web sites would be a major success. Copshoes.com has a "add a dollar for charity" in checkout and they've raised tens of thousands of dollars in a short time. A central concept that feeds into one place from thousands of sites would be very popular amongst online store owners and shoppers. Good luck!
