Idea Description
Creating a clothing line in which the proceeds benefit the rebuilding of schools in Sierra Leone. The product line will include shirts, hats, and various accessories(belts, necklaces, etc).
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
My plan is to design and sell shirts, hats, and accessories with the proceeds going to the rebuilding of the infrastructure of Sierra Leone, specifically its schools. The opportunity to get an education with adequate resources is the best way to begin to break the cycle of extreme poverty in Africa. "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime"- Chinese Proverb.

Is there a chance you could have the products you design made in Sierra Leone? Then you'd be creating income generating opportunities as well as financing schools.
Once the products are made and start generating profits, that is exactly what I planned on doing. To start off though, I was thinking about using Edun live (http://www.edun-live.com) for the production of the T-shirts. They sell 100% African made t-shirts in factories throughout sub-saharan africa.
Decent idea. It's like the (RED) campaign but for education instead of AIDS. Nothing wrong with more people doing good things in the world. Hope it works out.
