Idea Description
Scheduled service to go to user's home with large USB drive and backup all their important data or make an image of their entire computer. Data will be duplicated and stored in fireproof safe. This would be an enhancement to my existing computer repair business that would generate recurring income while providing a valuable service. Most people (if they backup at all) store the backups right by the computer - does them no good in case of fire, flood, etc.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
Buy hardware, fireproof safes and the rest toward marketing.

I use an automated backup software on removable hard drives in addition to the 5 drive-RAID. Data loss is never a problem. Just store back-up data weekly in a fireproof safe. Today a great backup system is less than $300. Sounds like an expensive service! If it is anything like my appliance man or plumber, were talking $60 or more per hour. In 5 hours @ $60, you have paid for the backup system! My advice to you, is offer this as a free service, when the customer purchases a computer with a service contract from you.
