Do I go after them directly or go after the add market (the same folks that sell company logo cups, tee shirts, and pens.
Idea Description
The pinky pointer is always available. While wearing it, you can still type or write with a regular pen. But, when you need it, it is always ready because you wear it like a ring. The new generation of convertable laptop and touchscreen PDAs require that you use a special (non-writing)pointer. They are made to safely point to things on the screen (like a mouse on regular computers)
This is the next "bluetooth enabled headset" kind of idea.

already have jewelery casting equipment and the knowledge to build a complete manufacturig facility (thousands a month). Need CNC mill and software to create wax originals in various sizes. I want to be able to offer the ring as jewelery; add company logos, or school insignias. Need to develop marketing plan (E-bay?, trade publications?, outside sales people?)

This idea is most definitely an accessory item. The market of Blackberries, IPhones, and yes even palm pilots are become the wave of the future. People are finding ways to make things in life simpler by having everything fit into one device. Or at least thats where is looks like its heading.
As I said your product would most likely would fit into an accessory category that a customer could purchase in addition to the product or could even be included in the actual packaging. I would advise you to research some of the companies that make and manufacture PDA pointing devices. These supplier are the ones that software companies usually contract out for product design.
