A site where one can get, give & lend advice to fulfill one's dreams!
Idea Description
A website for individuals to post their dreams and use a computer program to set up a time-line & multiple-level game-plan for accomplishing those dreams. The dreamers will be further empowered by the community as they get and give advice from/to other dreamers. Dreamers will be able to add the dreams of others to their own list and be able to decide how best to reach them. By viewing other's dreams and advice towards accomplishing them, dreams will grow in number and feasibility. The community will accomplish its dreams by helping each other dream.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
If I win I will begin to set up this website, create the computer program responsible for designing and creating the time-line and game-plan. The computer program will email the dreamer to encourage working on his or her dreams (the frequency of these reminder emails will be set-up by the dreamer) and thus fulfillment of the game-plan will be automated.
I aim to have this site up within 6 months of winning.
Through add revenues, the site will fund a monthly prize to help realize a dreamer's dream!

Q1: How should the monthly dreamer be selected?
You like it. You’re confused by it. You want to know more. Ask questions and post comments here.
Post a commentI LOVE THIS! If I'd know about this site when you were in competition, you would have had my vote! I'm a filmmaker and the next film I'm doing is about someone who quits a job they have no passion for to follow their dream! If you have a chance, check out the idea I submitted for "Patron of the Arts:Sponsor a filmmaker program". We've made it to the June finals, and the goal of the company is to help give filmmakers and artists the chance to bring their dreams to fruition! And if you run again, please let me know so I can vote for you! And if you like our program, feel free to vote for us! All my best, Cindy
wonerful idea.
what a great idea. There are a number of similar sites from SCORE to private consulting firms. But the one thing they all lack is a sense of "on-the-ground" reality. I can read 50 books on business philosophy and management style...but there is so little on the actual mechanics of making a company grow and prosper. The same is true for personal life...too much fluff...not enough meat and potatoes. congrats on a brilliant idea...I voted for you.
Great idea ! It gets my vote !
The world needs more positive juju! This has my vote!
I love the idea of putting ideas and dreams in print and using the broad community of the internet to collaborate and grow those dreams and ideas.

I'm tired of lowering my standards. Here's to living the dream!
Sounds like an online version of MS Project but with a social networking aspect. Very cool: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/project/HA101650291033.aspx
Bravo! All the Best Peace Love Joy
Sounds like a great idea with a lot of potential. You have my vote.
I wish my mother were alive to enjoy this potential site; she LOVED giving advice!
Good luck Geoff, I really hope your dream will become true!!..If you win, don't forget to put on your website....."You may say I'm a dreamer...but I'm not the only one".
reminds me of a local idea we have here: a non-non profit to give & get support. A small, manageable, compassionate community whose rules are simply the above!
awesome! Like if I wanted to learn to build a boat or even become an auctioneer! cheers!
So, like, another ideablob?
Good Luck Geoff! It's a Winner! Henry
And so, why am I not in the least bit surprised that you came up with an idea such as this... brilliant!
Check out my idea too: Zakle.com, people helping people, all over the world.
Cause that's what dreams are made of.....
Great idea! check out my idea too: social networking site for neighbors and neighborhoods: http://ideablob.com/ideas/810-A-social-networking-website-for
Wonderful idea!!! Good luck in pursuing your dreams.
This idea is even better than green eggs and ham!
This is a pretty fun idea. I would like to help you design the application. It does sound fairly involved but could be a wonderful thing. Good luck in the finals. You have my vote!
It is similar to 43things, but would differ in these ways: -This application would allow the dreamer to create a time-line and step-by-step process for achieving their goals/dreams. -The user would be able have the computer coach them to accomplish their goals/dreams, or choose to invite a personal coach to take that role. -This site would give more information and tools towards accomplishing those goals. -This site would be more intuitive and easy to navigate and thus allow the user to easily post or find information, advice, help, and thus the fulfillment of their dreams. Thank you for the question.
This is how great things happen
seems pretty similar to www.43things.com
The collective advising / support with the timeline function could be very cool.
Love this idea- It is revolutionary.
What makes this a GREAT IDEA is the possibility of using the power of a community of such great numbers. What if people could sign on with a friend or a dream partner? Or have a dream group that they check in with so they could have some human accountability?
this is pretty much the best idea i have seen in a really long time. blob.

this reminds me of an episode of "this american life" Superpowers. A teenage girl made a checklist of all the things she'd need to do to become a superhero – learn to fly a helicopter, learn Russian, learn to fire a bazooka, you get the idea – and then proceeded to do all the things on the list.
I really like the idea of pooling the collective resources of the global community. That's a lot of potential for people to help other people make their dreams come true. As far as how to choose the monthly dreamer, what about if it is just random? That way sometimes it would be something profound, but sometimes it might be silly. Having the world help you achieve the dream of meeting Screech from Saved By The Bell might be entertaining...
This seems like a great way to connect with people that might share a similar dream but have a different parts of the solution !!
