The forum could be as simple as a help desk, bulletin board to something more involved - a discussion group for creatives (designers, photographers, illustrators, writers, fine artists, gallery owners, etc.) to support each other with professional and technical issues and concerns - to network and develop working relationships. This could then progress to traveling to each other's cities to speak, participate in teaching and learning. To grow a better creative community.

1. Yes, I think people are interested. 2. It is hard to sustain interest...but you are currently on a model that works and will maintain interest by offering social interaction and a prize. finally, 3. Again, Ideablob is a good example of how to do this right.
So, good idea...but it exists and you are currently using it.
