PeekYourBoo.Com, login and take a peek into your child's daycare life!
Idea Description
Picture it...giving your child QUALITY care without fear of child neglect or abuse, a SECURE system where you can log in and see them at any given time. This system encourages providers to step up their game because of eyes and competition, ultimately resulting in better care for your child. I got this idea when I thought one day.."I wonder what Nia is doing?" My site will provide a page for the daycare provider to post openings, special occasions and curriculum.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
If I won 10k, my next step would be to meet up with a programmer get the site of the ground, then I would research to find the best equipment(web-cams). Keeping in mind the costs of installation and maintenance. After the site is set, I would use the In Home daycare database to contact providers about this service they can extend to their customers. I don't want to just extend this service to my area, but the United States. Then, Id like to host a nomination based award for Provider of the Year.
I think this is a great idea! My mom and her family have been in childcare for years. She was a teacher assistent for disabled children for years and i have heard of the neglect and abuse that has happened. Im glad your doing this and i wish you he best of luck!
I also think its a GREAT idea. It allows parents to live their lives and be successful whle also keeping a CLOSE eye on the lives of their young children. With so much abuse with children in daycares this idea is nothing more than PERFECT. I wish you the best of luck with getting this off the ground.
I like this idea, it has much potential indeed. It also would be a potential franchise as well if you chose to at some point. Whatever you do, keep your dream alive. Write it out, visualize it and work towards it daily.
The idea is great With a program like this, it would cut back on child molestations. Plus, it will allow the parents to rate their children care and if for any reason the parents are not satisfied, then the parents can find another daycare. I'll give it thumbs up girl.
very good idea did u vote for me
I'm not sure if i understand, you want it inhome or in daycare? Why contact daycare centers? Anyway, this could all be done in hardware. Some systems exist which would allow this to be done for IN HOME installations supporting up to as many cameras as you need by WIFI. It uses a inhome server/wifi basestation and an individual only needs to surf to their own ip address. This assumes a static IP address, but i would assume most cable providers ip addresses wouldnt change too often.
Ditto to all the above. Why not also buy a big screen tv for storytime. As long as you have the webcams, and the kids, why not very selectively board some of the kids animals while you are at it.
Great idea = monitoring is important for child/adult/invalid care-givers. You could add hardware/software for easy logIn/out of kids and providers; as kids come home from school, go to friends (they type in where going), log times as care-givers enter and leave your home. SuperCircuits.com has great hardware for survailence; multiple cameras (some are aim-able from internet), video recorders, monitors for multiple locations/views, and some work over the internet. Digital video recorder could be in the home or in your central office to record abuse or medical emergencies.
I would like to say I really appreciate the votes and the comments!!! and I bought the site!! Peekyourboo.com ;) Feel free to contact me with questions!
I love this idea! - Something you've probably thought of and didn't have space to put - Heavy security protection!! It'll be vital to keep hackers and voyers out. Bank of America was recently rated with some of the best security in the country For Your Gee Wiz File :-) Might be a good model to use.
Ooopsie! - I missed your final comment! - Goes to show how well you've thought this through!
This is a really good idea. I would rather send my son to an in home daycare that has this than one that doesn't. Pursue this!!! Best of luck. ;>
Great idea!!! I checked out your site and was a little put off by the colors you chose. I would recommend you change the color scheme as soon as possible. I feel that red and black gives an uneasy feeling, which is not what you want for child care. I am a web developer so if you are looking for a company to build your site .....
Great idea girl... good luck u have my vote
Great idea! check out my idea too: social networking site for neighbors and neighborhoods: http://ideablob.com/ideas/810-A-social-networking-website-for
I would worry about WHO is watching my child. security would have to be absolutely fool proof. But conceptually this is a really great, supportive ieda.
Please read all of my idea before posting a comment, please and thanks! My number one goal is the protection and security of the site! Thats why I havent built it myself already...I have a daughter (my main picture) so I have thought of everything! Thanks for the support!
Check out alwayscloseby.com. Children of America, a national chain of daycare centers, uses it. Parents can watch their kids all day long. Its a great idea that is similar to yours.
This does exist in some areas for daycares. Unfortunately not in my area. I have a 21/2 year old in daycare 3 days a week and I would love to be able to pop in via the web and see her. It would give parents great peace of mind to see their children playing and happy. It would also keep daycare workers on their toes. I think it is a fantastic idea and wish it were available now in my area. I would also be willing to pay a small amount extra as a parent for this service in a daycare. So you could pitch it to daycares as a selling point to potential parents and suggest they pass some of the expense to the parents. Daycare directors could also monitor many classrooms at one time. Good luck.
Usage of two-factor authentication and ease the security concerns. This may raise investment cost, but it will give the piece of mind that many parents may need. Good idea and keep it up.
