What advice do you have to help me grow my idea?
Idea Description
This company would create a manufacturing line of products specifically designed to be assembled and packaged by persons with mental disabilities.
As a Designer with over 14 patents on my name I would design and create an exclusive line of attractive and marketable products. I would align this company with the major Universities and research centers in order to get technical support (3d printing, tooling, engineering, etc) and would then obtain channels of distribution trough major retailers.
The products would be quite eclectic and attractive (I already have a few ideas) and would exemplify the triumph of creativity over disability.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
Start the final stages of manufacturing processes, create the legal paperwork, proceed with the intellectual protection of the products

Sorry I have not been able to respond to the comments and positive advice to my proposal. I have been busy trying to make a living after resigning my job of 15 years in order to take care of my family. One of the issues that appear to be creating some comments is that of the scope of the people that it would benefit. In principle, it applies to mostly people with mental disabilities as they are the most marginalized population in the world. As a single parent of two children with MR, naturally the subject is closer to my heart. At the same time same limitations of MR people are parallel to those of different populations, including the physically handicapped and the elderly. In addition of caring for my children I also care for my mother, who is in the early stages of Alzheimers. I env…moreision a implementation of the various products as a rsult of the feedback obtained from those it helps, either from observation and direct input from those more capable of providing verbal contribution. The intent is also to involve all those people it benefits by designing the manufacturing process. The product will be adapted to the manufacturing capabilities of those it serves, hence the bigger challenge. The production line will be therefore manned by those it serves with propper positioning of the workforce based on their individual capabilities. Of course, all of the proceeds will be re-directed towards the expansion of the business as well as establishing a fund to support all those charities that serve the disabled. Hopefully my business will go beyond being a charity, I intent to make this a model of a bona-fide business where the value and contribution of the disabled is honored.

I think that your idea would be appealing in the marketplace. Have you considered offering a parcentage of ou profits to charities that help people with disabilities ? this might have a fyrther draw.
