  I'd agree with the above...some of this is out there. Perhaps you could partner:

  Depending on extensive the enhancements would be to the partner's system you may want to consider seeing if they have an API. If they do then you could write a plug-in to their system and get some great exposure to their customer base since they're the 'big fish'.

  Protools is the industry standard - kids in high school up to recording studios in NYC use it (I've recorded a few songs). Unless you have a very unique value proposition I would use their software. Maybe you could build a plug-in though that would add some new element or feature. Cheers!
