Battery-Free Keyless Entry Remote

Many cars come with keyless remotes that unlock doors, deactivate alarms, open trunks, etc. Some systems won't let the car start without the remote. This can leave someone stranded in the event the remote is damaged or the batteries die. The product would eliminate lock-outs.

Idea Description

Product

SparKEY Inc. is building a battery-free, dynamo-powered keyless-entry remote for cars equipped with such systems. It will also incorporate other features that will replace other items that people typically carry on their person such as a pen, light, bottle opener, etc. and be built to military “ruggedized” specifications (water/heat/shock resistant).

Problem Solved

The business exists to solve the problem of keyless-entry remotes leaving drivers locked out of their cars or stranded because the remote has failed. This may not happen frequently, but the uncertainty and randomness of the occurrence is what makes it disconcerting.

What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?

I would get to work on a prototype and continue developing my business plan in order to secure additional funding. I would also research how to distribute the product and the best method to market it.
