Vote for Eve's Rib.com :: Fashion with a conscience
Eve’s Rib Clothing raises money and awareness by producing cause-related apparel that connects people with their passions. We place the power of change in the hands of the consumer, as a portion of the proceeds from every purchase go directly to the corresponding cause. Fashion never felt so good.
Idea Description
Each year, billions of dollars are spent on apparel. Eve's Rib Clothing was created to divert a small portion of those profits to worthy cause through sales of fashionable thought-provoking clothing. Since 2004, Eve's Rib Clothing has been promoting positive body image and self-esteem in women and girls while raising money for the National Eating Disorders Association. Now, Eve's Rib seeks to broaden it's impact by creating new socially-relevant garments for additional non-profits that address pressing global needs.

What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
We have begun our pursuit of expanding our brand to address many of today's global issues, specifically the environment, AIDS, education, endangered species, natural disaster relief and global hunger. However, funding is needed in order to help with the design, production, distribution and marketing of our new line of cause-specific apparel. We are currently in the process of defining our relationships with some of the world's leading non-profits and are working to be in Nordstrom Department Stores by Spring 2009.
Help us to make fashion pay.

Q1: Can you help us think of some more creative ways to promote our brand?
I like your idea; I want to improve your odds of getting funding I will vote for your idea if you will vote for mine. My idea is for a web site that raises money for inventors and entrepreneurs called New Idea website Check out my idea blob submission and visit New Idea Website and see what I can do for you. http://www.ideablob.com/ideas/4060-NEW-IDEA-WEBSITE The need for jobs is one of the biggest problems that a democratic government faces because creating jobs is an unwanted byproduct of business and industry. The reason I say its unwanted is the more jobs a business creates the more its expenses are and the smaller it’s bottom-line. If business and industry have their way they would run their companies with no jobs at all no management or labor. To deal with this dilemma I pr…moreopose a federal venture capital carrot fund that literally pays entrepreneurs to create jobs. The investment bank would be expected invest in seed level startup projects like yours and to lose money at a specified dollar per jobs ratio for example during hard times that figure may be as high as $20,000 per job and good times the figure may be as low as five dollars per job, by controlling this ratio the fed could roughly control unemployment. The bank will be expected to fund novel products and services and stay away from things like restaurants that will simply draw jobs from other restaurants or moving factories from one part of the country to another. If you like this idea vote for it and send the congressional letter from the website. Sincerely Frank Scruggs
Hi, Your idea is interesting. There is so much awareness about such issues that I am sure your idea will work. However, be careful that you will face lots of fragmented competition. For example, the GAP has the "(red)" campaign, and many organizations provide their own t-shirts and wrist bands. However, I like your twist with fashion. It could become something trendy - especially if you are able to convince a Hollywood star to wear one of your clothes!! I am sure your idea will take off if designed and marketed just right. I am not sure about other products out there that are already like yours. But it would be good to check! And do you have an age group in mind that you want to target in particular?
