Idea Description
This idea was inspired by Garage Sale Junkies! Save time by quickly locating garage, estate and yard sales. Map and route garage sales easily. Prototype by (c) Dave Malby at http://www.gsroute.com (gsroute.com (tm), gsroute (tm) and Garage Sale Router (tm). The "free to use" site would be completely supported by sponsors. Garage sales and similar sales are compiled and geocoded so that they can be viewed on the GSROUTE website map. Just click the listed city. Major map features include, details of sale, cluster mapping, individual sale mapping, "street level" zooming, panning and of course maps/routes can be printed. The site will also be used by any smartphone with internet capability.

Q1: If you go to garage sales, would you find this site useful?
I like your idea; I want to improve your odds of getting funding I will vote for your idea if you will vote for mine. My idea is for a web site that raises money for inventors and entrepreneurs called New Idea website Check out my idea blob submission and visit New Idea Website and see what I can do for you. http://www.ideablob.com/ideas/4060-NEW-IDEA-WEBSITE The need for jobs is one of the biggest problems that a democratic government faces because creating jobs is an unwanted byproduct of business and industry. The reason I say its unwanted is the more jobs a business creates the more its expenses are and the smaller it’s bottom-line. If business and industry have their way they would run their companies with no jobs at all no management or labor. To deal with this dilemma I pr…moreopose a federal venture capital carrot fund that literally pays entrepreneurs to create jobs. The investment bank would be expected invest in seed level startup projects like yours and to lose money at a specified dollar per jobs ratio for example during hard times that figure may be as high as $20,000 per job and good times the figure may be as low as five dollars per job, by controlling this ratio the fed could roughly control unemployment. The bank will be expected to fund novel products and services and stay away from things like restaurants that will simply draw jobs from other restaurants or moving factories from one part of the country to another. If you like this idea vote for it and send the congressional letter from the website. Sincerely Frank Scruggs

Thank you very much for your input and suggestions! We are currently updating the websites, so some of the cities may be down momentarily. Everything currently is up and running. We get our feeds from Craigslist. We do not consider Craiglist a competitor. We also use and advertise on Craigslist. We are much different than Craigslist because we specialize in mapping and routing. If you are in any of the cities that we are now covering, email your ad to sales@tpsnet.com, the deadline is Wednesday prior to the sale date. There is no charge. If you are having any technical problems with anything on any of our websites, please phone me Dave Malby at 800-546-1612. We are getting all of the kinks out of this website, so people can easily use the mapping system with little or no instructi…moreon. We will have a garage supply store online as soon as the supplies come in. This will include preprinted garage sale pricing labels.
Hey, This is a great idea. I tried clicking on the left side on a city, but the link didn't work. Maybe there is something else I should be doing. But I am intereste in this myself! If I put a yard sale, how do I advertise through you? Is there a way I can login, add my address, dates of the sale, and possibly even a list of the items or a general list that I want to sell? This way, I'll get a more targeted audience. Just a note - I see Craigslist as your biggest competitor. People know of it through word of mouth. Maybe you can advertise your site through them too! :) And maybe you could have paid services such as I as a seller can print labels and price tags from home, etc. This way you could differentiate yourself from Craigslist.

Thanks. In business "especially shoestring businesses", timing is everything! I also want to say to everyone.. Just because we are in a recession, that doesn't mean that you can't start up a business.
That is a cool idea. It's perfect timing as well. I just read an article on CNN about how middle to upper income folks are starting to shop more at thrift stores to cut costs. Awesome idea.
Today we are promoting this website on Craigslist, sending out press releases, handing out flyers, posting on bulletin boards, ordering bumper stickers, t-shirts and other promotional material. We are targeting antique stores which are very abundant here. A Youtube video is also in production. We will expand into Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and San Diego this week!
With the sluggish economy, and the "need to spend", I predict a huge increase in sales in the used article marketing sector! Anyone in the recycling, repair and sales of used items will see a recession proof business during these tough times!
Also, we are seeking commission sales persons to sell advertising space.
Today Sunday 12th 2008, gsroute.com is fully functional for the Sacramento CA area. The input software program is completed. I tested the site myself, and I must say, it is a blast, and way better than I could ever imagine! I was able to go to twice as many garage sales in the same time, find more bargains by beating the competition to the real good ones! The treasures today will yield me more than a $500 profit on Ebay! I also met a person that is a great source of old first edition books, collectible ceramics for a fraction of their value. For the pro-junker this site is too awesome, to say the least! This site will go national, with Ideablob's help or not! We are seeking data input "work at home" people in all major cities! We also have advertising space available on…more this site. This is big!!
