D.C.Electric Vehicle
Remove a car's engine and replace it with a D.C. electric motor of similar power. Install a D.C. generator to power it. The generator can run on anything from alcohol to natural gas. (Anything but gasoline I say).
Q1: I've seen other "hybrid" ideas but not like this one. Have you seen any like this?
Idea Description
Remove the gasoline engine of a car (or truck). Leave the transmission. Remove the radiator and heater core for recycling. Insall a D.C. electric motor of similr power and connect it to the transmissiion. The motor will have a shaft comming out of the front for a pully. The pully will provide power to the brakes, power steering, and air conditioning.
Install a D.C. generator to power the motor, charge the battery, and provide power for the car's electrical system. The accellerator will be connected to a voltage regulator which controls power to the motor. All that is left is to install an electric heater in the interior for winter time.
