Community through Gaming
My wife and I opened up a gaming center in the inner city of Los Angeles. This business is the first of its kind and the purpose is to provide inner-city entertainment for inner city youth through next generation gaming. We have Xbox 360s, Sony PS3s and Nintendo Wiis.
Idea Description
Being a pioneer at anything takes A LOT OF WORK!!!! This is my wife and I first business. We are SURELY learning as we go. With any business it takes time to see it grow, but so far no so good. We have been open 6 months and we have yet to turn a profit, we are not even breaking even, this last month was a tough one because we had to come out of pocket over $1000, just to cover the rent. I believe in the saying do something you love and you never have to work a day in your life. I can honestly say that running this business day in and day out, it has never seemed like work. However, for us to continue to provide this service we really need to increase our clientele. ANY SUGGESTIONS!!
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
To be honest, I would love to use these winnings to add more systems and do more advertising but with the way the economy is and the way it has affected our business, I would use these funds to catch up on some of my own personal bills. Running this business requires ongoing funding, which unfortunately is not coming from our business at this point.

Well it sounds like you have a great idea but unfortunately you are not making enough money to cover your expenses. This means that you need to evaluate your business and see what is lacking so you can improve it.
Are there times of the day that your business is dead?
Do you find that there are no times when it is really busy?
What can you do to increase traffic in slow times?
Do you think you could charge more without alienating customers?
Is there a way you could create a premium membership to get an increase in capital?
Here is an article of ways to increase profits, they wont all work for you and some you will have to tweak for your business model, but I think lots of them were very insightful.
