Kiba Kiba Books "Illustrated by Children"
Please visit: www.kibakiba.org The concept is simple. I write stories. Children illustrate them. All illustrator profits are then donated to local and global non-profits. Thanks4-VOTING
Idea Description
What are the stories about?
All stories aim to inspire children to believe in themselves. They expand the imagination and promote self-reliance, courage, unity, freedom and individual self-expression.
What is the mission of Kiba Kiba Books?
To give children a platform and leading role in the process of creating a beautiful children's book.
What is the goal of the project?
For children to learn the basics of illustration as a visual art form.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
I will research all the ways that technology might be able to help me. My idea is to convert all of my Kiba Kiba Books into full color ebooks with a connected audio stream of children reading them out loud. The audio and visual would be distributed on handheld devices. Some technology I might like to purchase to fund this project: Adobe On-Location? Kindle? Sony Reader? Can the books be converted to the iPhone? Then I will produce the audio ebooks. I really love new technology and I think it's time for the bookstore to evolve! THANKS AGAIN FOR SIGNING UP AND VOTING FOR KIBA KIBA BOOKS! :)
Vote for it now.

Q1: Should I put my books on iphone and use ebook technology like kindle, the sony reader? Has anyone used these technologies? What do you think of them?

I like your idea; I want to improve your odds of getting funding I will vote for your idea if you will vote for mine. My idea is for a web site that raises money for inventors and entrepreneurs called New Idea website Check out my idea blob submission and visit New Idea Website and see what I can do for you. http://www.ideablob.com/ideas/4060-NEW-IDEA-WEBSITE The need for jobs is one of the biggest problems that a democratic government faces because creating jobs is an unwanted byproduct of business and industry. The reason I say its unwanted is the more jobs a business creates the more its expenses are and the smaller it’s bottom-line. If business and industry have their way they would run their companies with no jobs at all no management or labor. To deal with this dilemma I pr…moreopose a federal venture capital carrot fund that literally pays entrepreneurs to create jobs. The investment bank would be expected invest in seed level startup projects like yours and to lose money at a specified dollar per jobs ratio for example during hard times that figure may be as high as $20,000 per job and good times the figure may be as low as five dollars per job, by controlling this ratio the fed could roughly control unemployment. The bank will be expected to fund novel products and services and stay away from things like restaurants that will simply draw jobs from other restaurants or moving factories from one part of the country to another. If you like this idea vote for it and send the congressional letter from the website. Sincerely Frank Scruggs
I wanted to update everyone on a previous comment I made: Originally I had hoped to have 3 books completed by Dec 2008. But due to 'circumstances beyond my control' I am now tapering the launch to release one book each season. So, my first book is still coming out in Dec 08, the next in Spring 09 and the next in Summer 09. :)
Thanks for your comment and vote. I checked out your profile. I'm impressed. I thinks the two of us have the same mission to help children use their creativity.

Thanks, Suneet! I just sent you an email. I love the idea of a partnership and look forward to talking about the possibilities. :)
Hi CosmicDahl, I'd really like to speak to you about a partnership if possible. Maybe putting one of your books on our platform? If you're interested in talking about it, do let me know. Again, I love your idea. suneet@socialsymmetry.com Thanks and good luck. Suneet
I just found out that Kiba Kiba Books was highlighted in the gaia.com Team Gaia Blog. Here is their comment: "Also, I want to tell you about a few of the amazing artists here. They're out in the world serving with inspiration and beauty. I am so happy I found CosmicDahl aka. Jessica. (Her name is my name too ;) She’s been part of this community for a long time and just started a publishing company called Kiba Kiba in August. She uses children’s artwork for all of the illustration and donates all of those illustration proceeds to non-profit organizations through her foundation. Really! She works with children to create the art for her books, giving them the chance to take part and make something meaningful. So check her out and offer some morale support. She’s out there living …moreher passion, making vibrant, positive books with the good of the world in mind." http://team.gaia.com/blog/2008/10/gaia_community_news#comments
CosmicDahl, I did see your project and I love the approach you're taking. I think we've both decided to focus on getting children engaged and involved. Thanks for taking the time to check out our link and I wish you luck as well. The beauty of this space is that there is tremendous room and huge market for groups approaching it altruistically. Most of the books you see now have an agenda or a specific slant. I think there are more than enough stories to tell that would be more universally accepted--if some people don't have access to water, there's really no two ways about it. Good luck. I'll be keeping tabs on how you're doing. I'd also love to chat with you more direclty. I'm sure we can learn a lot from each other: suneet@socialsymmetry.com .
Very soon! I have the first THREE books launching in December. They will be available to buy on my website. :)
When can I buy one?
