Hey, Ignore my last post. :) The folks at Ideablob said to hold off until votes are verified, which makes total sense. I was just a bit overeager. We'll all know soon enough. Enjoy the weekend.
Hey Folks, I updated our page to show how many votes we received in total. I'm curious as to how many votes the rest of the finalists have. The suspense is definitely killing us. :) Check out the top of our post and if you're interested, follow suit. I'm sure your voters are curious, too.
Wow, this is a furious competition. I really do love that we all are being positive about this. Good luck over the next 2 hours. My gf and I cancelled the 1st half of our halloween plans...we had to stick around for a bit. Now, may nature take its course...or your efforts. At the end, I think we've all benefitted from this race, regardless of who wins...
My students thought your idea was cooler than mine! Ha! If there is any way the students could help with your project, it would fit in very well with our environmental awareness section. Let me know, and I hope to buy one of these cars soon so that I stop spending all my money on petrol :) We should touch base some time next week. Take care.
Voted! I really hope people stop bashing you in your comment section......Good Luck!
Well, only about 6 hours to go until the voting is over. You are in FIRST PLACE, but only by 71 votes (1089 to 1018), and that was the total at the end of yesterday. GOOD LUCK !!! Take the money to the bank and then get started finishing up that patent !!! Robin20152
Good Luck Guy's!!!!! Joseph
You really have a great idea here! Best of luck. We really need more people pushing for these innovative solutions to some very big problems. If it wasn't scholarship more for my students, I would definitely vote for you or Dream Village. Let me know if you are in the Philadelphia area. I would love for you to come talk about your idea with my students.
You've invented something great here! I can't wait until this is on the market so I can buy one myself!
I just love your idea good luck I hope you win.
Thank you!@!! Rick and Bubba were GREAT!!! They were true stars in my eyes!
Heard you on Rick & Bubba! GREAT STUFF! Good Luck!
great concept. really hope you guys win. you have mine, boyfriends, and families votes :D
According to a 2002 survey commissioned by the BBB Wise Giving Alliance, more than 91 percent of small businesses in the U.S. support charitable organizations. While 85 percent of those surveyed had donated money, the research revealed that small business giving is not confined to writing checks. Nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of small business owners/managers had supported charities through in-kind contributions of products or services. Not a horrible idea, but..... 1. Global warming and cooling is normal. 2. An engine in idle is probably the most wasteful form of oil/gas. 3. While making money is what we would all like to do, this 10k belongs to a not for profit org. Just my opinion. Thanks
SuneetBhatt...its truly a pleasure to be able to correspond with you....NO DOUBT its a tough race and I also wish you the best!! Thanks so much for your response...and whoever wins I KNOW will put the money to excellent use in their project. Thanks for the PUSH HoGG
AVP, I'd like to apologize for the things patrickpanian wrote above. I don't know the patent details and I'm sure you've done your research...but that's not the point. I just think there are better ways to go about it. Good luck over the next day and a half. We still want to beat you (I'm part of the Dream Village project) but we want whoever wins to win the right way for the right reasons. I love your idea and there's no doubt an obvious need for it.
I have a provisional patent as of now. It may not be the same invention are you are speaking of because my patent has a lot to do with the geometry of the device. The entire make-up of this is in the geometry. Unless I win and apply for the full patent I have no way of knowing if it has already been patented correct? My lawyer has completed much searching and feels that everything is in order. Thanks for the comment!!
I just wanted to inform you that this has already been invented over 10 years ago. you might want to look into the patten information on this, because if you get the 10K, the money will have to be (should be) given back. you wont be able to market this item because of this. im not sayin that it is not a good cause, and i am all for reducing emmistions, i just wanted to bring that to your attention.
Great idea! Good Luck!
I really like this idea!! Here's a couple questions though. After looking at your website I noticed that battery life is 30 miles round trip. What about the people that live more in rural areas that go further than that. Are the batteries easily changed out- so you could put in a new one before heading home so you could go 60 miles round trip. Also, it's mentioned how easily it's hooked up. How do you prevent theft of device while in a store or a parking lot?
OUTSTANDING!
We will be watching this to see where it goes and hopefully one day be able to purchase

great job, voted for you, hope u win.
A great idea! Good luck to you!
What a great idea...something that we can all afford to invest in!
Thank you for responding to my question/comment. You officially have my vote! Thank for such ingenuity!
Nice idea (got my vote). Have you thought about the extra parking space required when the device is attached? Not a problem for compact cars but you must have a parking issue with your wagon. Also, an auto retract system might be a nice 'luxury' feature so I can lift the wheel when the charge runs low (avoiding unnecessary wear-n-tear)
Awesome idea...just need to get some more horsepower and it will be gold. LOL!
Wishing you the best!!!
Love this idea! Hope you win :0)
thumbs up.... i'm rooting for you too!!
good luck to you! neat idea!
THis is the best idea ever!! I would buy one...let me know when you begin selling!
go to the top of this page and click the green vote button or go to the big blue blob in the left hand corner and click for the main page and you can vote there. Thanks!
How do I vote for your idea?
From the receptionist at the radio station, God bless. I believe with you that you'll win (If it is His will)
good luck! hope you win! -evelyn
I saw it today..really good idea and will help save a lot of gas too...
Thanks to all---In answer to the above comment....1.I live in Alabama where approx 90% of our energy is produced by hydroelectric dams. At this point in technology hydroelectric dams are the most environmentally friendly way of generating electricity. The batteries are so small in comparison to a pure electric vehicle that it is possible to use solar, wind, etc to recharge the batteries. Recharging the batteries at our electric rates costs between 25-50 cents which is good for approximately 30 miles. 2. Possibly, but our patent pending status prevents us from divulging how we have solved those issues. Thanks!!!
GO GO GO! I so hope you win! what A GREAT idea......... there may be some tweaks but YOU GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Congratulations. I think this is a great idea in principle. However, I would like to know more about: 1) the relative energy costs and environmental impacts of electrically charging the device compared to running a car without the device -- this is not addressed in your video 2) the engineering: It seems that you're coupling the device to the car at a point far behind the center of gravity of the load that's being moved -- doesn't this reduce its efficiency? In order to obtain sufficient friction for the 5th wheel to propel the car, it seems that you must add extra weight bearing on that wheel. Can you reposition the wheel anteriorly?
I love it when normal Americans can seemingly invent things that we as a country need. We run semi-trucks and I can tell you the price at the pumps have hurt us badly in the past 6 months. Kudos to you for a great invention...I hope it works for you. -cheerz
Another freelancer here... I really hope you win!! This is a desperately-needed item, especially for people who don't live in urban/suburban areas with public trans, and who face loooong car commutes just for $9/hr jobs (and I have a BS engineering degree, no less!). AND it seems to be very "do-able" as well as affordable. Good for you!
Robin----Thank you SO MUCH for letting me know I had the wrong video posted. I changed it and am very grateful to you for bringing it to my attention!!
I am so proud of you, my dear nephew, and voted for your Hogg Pusher invention. I have spread the word to everyone in my address book and will continue spreading the word to help you.
After checking all of the finalists for the month of October I have decided that yours is the best one. So I voted for you. I know I said that maybe I would vote in a couple of days, but since I was on the site and planning on checking out the finalists anyway, I thought, "what the heck...". So I voted for you. In return I expect you to remember this one VERY important thing: "When it comes to free advice, you pretty much get what you pay for". So with that in mind, always carry a few pennies in you pocket so that when somebody offers you some free advice you'll always have a couple of pennies to give them in return. And THAT is MY two cents worth! Robin20152
I want to like your idea, I really do. It seems plausible and "do-able". I realize that right now all you have is only the one prototype; but on the brightside, that's one more prototype than anyone else (well, at least mostly everyone else) has here at IdeaBlob. I also like that it is already "started", that is, you're not sitting around on your butt waiting for some large or small venture capitalist to invest in your idea. Another reason I want to like your idea is that it is an actual, physical thing, and not just another pie-in-the-sky internet co-op plan. I want to vote for your idea, I really do. Unfortunately, right now anyway, I'm a little ticked off at you. You see, there are only 1,440 minutes in a day. I just wasted 10 of today's 1,440 watching your YouTube v…moreideo (7 minutes) and visiting your website (3 minutes) and learning absolutely nothing about your product/idea. Don't worry, I'm not going to count the 10 minutes or so that it has taken me to type this as "time wasted". Maybe I'll come back in a couple of days and vote. BTW: I do NOT envy the long, difficult, and complicated road you have ahead of you in developing, perfecting, and successfully marketing your 5th Wheel. Just remember that paranoia is your most dangerous enemy when it comes to inventing things and getting & maintaining a legitimate patent on them! No matter how it turns out for you here at IdeaBlob, GOOD LUCK !!! Robin20152
I love your idea and hope the right candidate gets into office to help you start up a small business that will not be taxed to death! LOL!

good idea.
a freelancer here! Good Luck....sounds like something I could certainly use and would buy!!
Excuse me to both the above questions. I was on the phone when I was answering them. The site is www.pushhogg.com ALSO, CONTACT the senators in your state and ask about the green credits for add-on hybrids. No one should have to buy a NEW car to be able to have a hybrid NOR should they have to buy a NEW car to be able to get the green hybrid credits when there is an add-on for your existing car with the same qualifications!! :) Thanks!!
To Linflyer----if you go to www.pushhog.com and watch the video you will see an artist rendering of the finished design. In the finished design the wheel is not very noticeable at all. Thanks!!
To Recygirl---I am SO glad you asked! I cannot give you an answer right now but we are working with our local congressmen on this. The new bailout package gives HUGE green credits for certain cars with the EXACT qualifications that are the same as the Push Hogg, so we are hoping they will extend us the same courtesy which would make the device VERY inexpensive and yes even before any tax credit almost anyone would be able to afford one. Actually going by the bailout plan--if the Push Hogg received the same bailout credits as the green cars it would virtually be free. So, CONTACT your congressmen!!!
