A la Carte Personal Assistants

Botique firms, and a website, with personal assistants prepared to perform a la carte services for consumers. Depending on the location of the firm, these services would range from social-work type assistance all the way up to standard personal assistant luxury services at a la carte pricing.

Idea Description

Botique firms that would eventually take 2 basic forms. First, high-volume shops in lower income areas where English is not the first language. There, we would primarily assist customers in navigating the complex business and government worlds. Bi-lingual assistants would staff each of those shops and would be trained on the local issues that people in those communities most commonly face. Experts would be available on-line for unusual or complex issues.
In upper middle-class communities, the shops would take on a different tenor. They would focus on tasks such as helping to find/screen nannys, mechanics, home-repair personel etc. They would wait in homes & supervise the cable company etc.

What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?

The next steps would be to invest in website design and a rental space in a high-volume area. The website has to be available in several languages as well as advertised in those languages. This website must be very simple and user friendly. Money would be needed to attend local seminars, workships that seem to be addressing common needs of the community. Early on, this organization could be run by one bi-lingual individual so staffing is not an issue until expansion is feasible. So, basic operating costs and a high-tech website are key early components.
