T-shirt contractor...custom designs/small orders
If you have ever gone to high school, then you are probably familiar with school, club or event sponsored t-shirts...and how lame they are. Our goal is to provide a custom designed alternative, one that is priced for a charity-type cause, but with an emphasis on fit, design, and quality.
Q1: Do you guys think the market for my idea is as big as I think it is, or am I crazy?
Idea Description
People need custom t-shirts for a variety of reasons; maybe you are planning an event and want to promote it with t-shirts. Or perhaps you are a high school student who wants t-shirts for their Spanish club.
Probably due to sorry artistic skills, most of these shirts are pretty lame. This is where we come in. Our business will start local, but will ultimately end up on the internet. Customers submit design criteria, we come up with a design, and work with them to create something worthy of being worn for fashions sake. Our shirts will be designed, manufactured, and printed with every bit of emphasis on quality, but at a price similar or less than our lesser quality competitors.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
With a $10,000 windfall, I would use it towards start-up costs. These would probably include: domain name and hosting, maybe printing materials and supplies, and all kinds of promotion. Marketing will be what separates us from our competition, so that will logically cost the most. There is an enormous market for our product, yet it seems to be largely untapped. Therefore, we are sort of creating a market; probably a lot of the $10k will go towards marketing costs.
