Idea Description
With the focus on aging baby boomers and the transfer of wealth in this country, there is little talk and few solutions offered for how the majority of Americans – poor or working class – will live out their final years.
The reality for most aging Americans is one of uncertainty. Although there are federal, state, and even local programs available, few working class people know what help is available or what to expect when they reach retirement age. The goal is to provide free and useful information about aging and preparing to live in a nursing home.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
Research, develop, and launch a web site with layers of information creating links to federal and state agencies, aging resources, etc., as well as, providing basic information on how to prepare for old age. Create free downloadable checklists to use for individual situations as well as free downloadable information sheets covering general topics — power of attorney, trusts, wills, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice, etc.
Add shopping cart technology for accepting donations and buying more in-depth brochures, printed booklets, reference guides, etc. to keep the web site current and relevant to the changing needs of aging baby boomers and to pay for hosting fees.
