Sanitizing Mist For Retail Shopping Carts
What about sanitizing shopping carts when not in use to protect all users? Would you say this is important? As shopping carts pass through the cart storage/collection area, they would be sprayed with a sanitizing solution which would cover all surfaces between uses. We could prevent sickness.
Idea Description
Germs are easily transmitted on shopping carts at grocery stores and retails stores everywhere, which everyone uses. Even in dry, dark conditions or in broad daylight, germs can thrive. The area where germs exist does not even need to be damp, but germs can thrive on objects where people have touched or sneezed. This type of spray system, installed in cart holding areas inside retail stores, could be a simple misting system that disinfects shopping carts each time they are pushed through and housed between uses. The mist would completely sanitize all surfaces, including those that children touch and put their mouths on. Everyone could be better protected by simple sanitization.

Q1: * Who uses shopping carts?
* What surfaces can germs survive on?
* What could be prevented by misting shopping carts with a sanitizing spray?
* Who would benefit/be protected by sanitizing mist?
* Where could shopping carts be sanitized?
* Would sanitization of carts need to be overly complicated or simple?
You should check out Purecart... I can put one in for any store with carts! Contact me..phat2muskles@yahoo.com
This is a great idea because when ever i go shopping i never want to touch the carts, so instead i just put the products in my hands.
This is an excellent idea. One of the better ones I ever read. Having myself been affected by the transmission of germs picked up from shopping carts I'd love to see merchants take it upon themselves to provide a more sanitary environment in which to shop. I once when on a cruise and one of the first things that impressed me was the high degree of sanitation provided onboard ship. You were not allow into the eating establishments with first applying an antibacterial mist to your hands at the door of the establishment. I never heard of a single person getting sick onboard that ship the entire 14 days we sailed.
This sanitizing mist set up like a auto car wash or fire sprinkler system could also be used at the indoor play gyms, like at McDonald's and Chuck E. Cheese. It's a love/hate relationship. It's somewhere to take the kids that's inexpensive and entertaining but they most always get sick 2 days later! There's an EPA Registered botanical disinfectant called Benefect that would be a great product to use in such a device - very "green".
