The Things I Wish My Mother Would Have Told Me

A one woman show to raise awareness for families affected by cnacer:

Running backwards through her memories, a girl, on a journey to find the one missing piece in the jigsaw of her life. Is it hidden between the fumes of a Colombian shamanic ritual? Or in the last words her mother never said?...

Idea Description

My one woman show: The Things I Wish My Mother WOuld Have Told Me...is my journey through my mothers breast cancer battle - and my coming to terms with her passing whilst tracking through the jungle in search of a peace of mind. I'm combining my theater training with theater therapy - to help and share with other young adults how they to can find an expressive voice through hardship.

By increasing my budget my production can reach more people and change others lives:

As a cancer survivor, the time I spend thinking about my experience lessens every day with the help of new found love, family, friends, and with the tearing open and rebuilding of spirits in performances such as this. Mia’s account of her life is written from the depths of her being and she shares all she discovered after a soul searching trip into the jungle to dissect and re-establish herself after a life dominated by her mothers cancer. This Play’ enabled me to see through a daughters eyes how the battle against cancer is not only lonely for the one facing it.
