Apartments/birdhouses for birds in metro cities
Idea is to provide home to local birds.Collection of birdhouses(just like apartments)can be built in places where there is scope of greenery like public parks.Careful study of the local birds would be needed for location/shape of birdhouses and other factors which help them adapt to humans.
Q1: Challenge is not to flock the scavenger birds.
Idea Description
I tried this idea on the terrace of my house and it works.I hung 3 birdhouses on my terrace during the breeding season of dove(a local bird of Lucknow,India).And two of them were quickly occupied(even in close proximity),the doves even laid eggs and raised the fledglings.Idea is to densify(but not overcrowd)the population of birds in the remaining green areas of the city.Careful study about the behaviour,eating habits and other such factors has to be done which will help in deciding the location and shape of the birdhouses.So that the birds adapt to their new homes.Cooperation of the city's environmentalists will be needed to manage the natural food of the birds.

My next step will be to try this idea on a slightly larger scale in collaboration with the help of residents in my colony.I will do research on the habitats of the local birds and then design bird houses which takes care about the comfort,cleanliness and protection of the birds.I will also install a system to constantly monitor the birds.I will make all the efforts to provide abundance of food,water and protection so that the birds are comfortable to accept their new home.This idea can help in conservation of bird species.
