Gift Registry & Resources For Grooms (TheManRegistry.com)
Let's face it - wedding planning and men traditionally don't mix. But our new website, The Man Registry, aims to change that by providing men with a one-stop resource where they can learn about weddings, register for guy-friendly wedding gifts, and even have a little fun in the process.
Idea Description
Weddings are a $72 billion annual business in the U.S., with $19 billion spent on gifts selected primarily by the bride. But what about the groom? To cater to this previously untapped market, TheManRegistry.com is the first wedding registry and informational resource designed specifically for men. The centerpiece of TheManRegistry.com is a gift registry featuring hundreds of gifts geared toward men, including electronics, tools, grill accessories, bar supplies and groomsmen gifts. The content portion of the site educates men about everything they want and need to know about weddings but are afraid to ask.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
We would invest $5k in website improvements and additions, including adding social networking aspects to the site, creating a vendor database that would allow men to search for wedding businesses in various cities, and improving our cart/checkout area. The other $5k would go toward marketing and refining The Man Registry brand. We've already seen positive results from our marketing efforts, but with an additional $5k, we could truly establish ourselves as the ultimate wedding authority for grooms.

Q1: For you married men out there, what would have made the wedding planning process more enjoyable for you?
Katecanfly, Sorry if it's not clear in the listing. $5k would be put towards improving the website while the other $5k would go towards marketing and brand development.
In response to Katecanfly, They said 5K would be used to improve the website and the other 5K would be used to refine the brand and increase marketing. Those are two separate uses for the money.
This only talks about what would be done with 5K of the 10K . . . I'm curious to know what would happen with the rest of the money.
