Idea Description

The majority of items donated to most thrift stores is unsalable and most thrift stores pays thousands of dollars in removal fees every year. I worked on a program where stained but nice clothing was tie dyed and sold as "Peace & Love Wear." The items reduce the waste, double recycled and provided additional revenue to fund the operations of a homeless shelter.

What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?

If I had $10 I would expand advertising and launch other types of recycled goods. I would modify the thrift store venue to be more like a market access point for arts and crafts made from recycled material. I would use the additional funds to buy brochures, pay for staff education and pay my staff a living wage.
