ThriveOrFail - Users choose from one of two votes on links
Users submit stories, people vote one of two choices, such as "thrive or fail" or "Agree or Object." Stories are ranked by the more number of votes. So the most voted upon stories bubble to the top.
Q1: It feels like the idea is good, but it's just short of being sticky. What can I do to make this an obvious improvement over exsiting social news sites?
Idea Description
I have cobbled together a prototype of the concept at http://www.thriveorfail.com. The idea is this- places like digg, mixx, propeller, etc. let people vote on popularity, but the votes themselves contain no information. I thought it would be much more interesting if users could dimensionalize votes. Instead of saying in effect "I like this story/link" they would be saying "I like this" or "I don't like this", but both count as a vote.

The bank will be expected to fund novel products and services and stay away from things like restaurants that will simply draw jobs from other restaurants or moving factories from one part of the country to another.
