Cellphone vid/pic camera link to 911 services
Link ability to feed cellphone video to 911 operator's screen and ability for that operator to forward stream it to police cars or EMS vehicles.
Idea Description
A picture is worth a thousand words. Video is streaming pictures. How valuable would it be in an emergency if the 911 operator and responding EMS vehicles to have a picture or video of what is happening at the scene before they are dispatched or arrive? How about a pic/vid of the scene for situation awareness? For narrowing the location or positioning of the victim or accident? Often the caller is at a lost for words, disoriented due to stress, or not familiar of the location they are in. A first step might be the ability to send a pic/video message to local 911 from your cellphone which they could forward on to the responding officer or crew.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
To put together a feasibility study of this idea and then put together a Proposal and presentation to take to talk to technology (wireless providers) as well as manufacturers of EMS communication technology systems, as well as communities. Find a community that would be willing to partner and pilot the technology. Some of the money would go toward travel and meeting expenses. This could be implemented fairly quickly by putting up a billboard in a community saying you can send vid/pic txt messages to miamifl@911.com (for example). Could be a community's own registered URL and they could forward to computers in the vehicles from the site. End goal=ability transmit live while talking

Q1: Is it hard to imagine this would likely save at least one life per year in small-med size city?
I like your idea; I want to improve your odds of getting funding I will vote for your idea if you will vote for mine. My idea is for a web site that raises money for inventors and entrepreneurs called New Idea website Check out my idea blob submission and visit New Idea Website and see what I can do for you. http://www.ideablob.com/ideas/4060-NEW-IDEA-WEBSITE The need for jobs is one of the biggest problems that a democratic government faces because creating jobs is an unwanted byproduct of business and industry. The reason I say its unwanted is the more jobs a business creates the more its expenses are and the smaller it’s bottom-line. If business and industry have their way they would run their companies with no jobs at all no management or labor. To deal with this dilemma I pr…moreopose a federal venture capital carrot fund that literally pays entrepreneurs to create jobs. The investment bank would be expected invest in seed level startup projects like yours and to lose money at a specified dollar per jobs ratio for example during hard times that figure may be as high as $20,000 per job and good times the figure may be as low as five dollars per job, by controlling this ratio the fed could roughly control unemployment. The bank will be expected to fund novel products and services and stay away from things like restaurants that will simply draw jobs from other restaurants or moving factories from one part of the country to another. If you like this idea vote for it and send the congressional letter from the website. Sincerely Frank Scruggs
looks like some folks are already looking into similar ideas... I think you eventually solve the 'overload' concern by just allowing the caller to send a video/pic message to the operator, or maybe the operator gives them a PIN unique to that call to send the message to. Ideally, as I said, the caller's phone would stream what they are seeing. http://www.ems1.com/ems-products/communications-interoperability/articles/420164-Fla-county-looks-into-911-text-message-system
