Sign This Wall For a Good Cause!
This idea is to create a virtual web signing wall for causes, charity, events, etc to help bring the causes to attention quickly (users inviting other users to come and sign) and to raise fund by utilizing the major social networks platforms such as Myspace.com and Facebook.com.

Idea Description
We want to make it simple and easy for people to pass on the information about a cause and to raise fund quickly to help those who are in need. Basically we have created a virtual wall that allow the users to sign and write prayers/comments for the China earthquake that took place in May. See http://apps.facebook.com/chinarelief/publicwall.php It created a community for people who are affected and those who cared about the disaster to come together to interact with each other, to find comfort, and to heal. The users and commercial sponsors are given the opportunity to pledge, and donate when the wall is signed by the users. The wall has generated $405,157 in pledged donations so far!
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
We will use the money to enhance current features, to develop additional features, and to expand the app to allow users to create walls themselves for other causes (ie stop global warming, fight cancer, feed the children, end poverty.. etc) easily on Facebook.com, Myspace.com, other major social networks as well as a stand alone web site at http://www.SignThisWall.com

cool idea. as you hover(hold) over a name signed on the wall, a box should pop forward with the user's picture and comment or feeling regarding the cause or why they signed.

Thanks, I understand what you are saying and yes, there are those factors that will make us different and I believe will get users more involved and therefore to build a better stronger community :)
I think the showcase of photographs (which is similair to twitter) of all the people who have signed the wall is a good differentiating factor when compared to the causes application that already exists on facebook ... they seem the same but such factors would set it apart ... themes such as china earthquake and having prayers on the walls are also good differentiating factors .. keep up the good work!
