Beat Cancer!
I'll work with patients, doctors and cancer survivors to develop an effective synchronicity of alternative and traditional cancer fighting methods.
Idea Description
My plan is to develop a truly comprehensive "patient driven" database, to seek out and promote alternative cancer treatments that are safe & effective. My soulmate Audrey died of breast cancer in 2007. Watching the horribly inflexible way the medical establishment approached her treatment led me to dedicate my life to finding a better way. Her doctors spent thousands of dollars every week on chemotherapy, and even more on radiation treatment, yet they never even mentioned things like a healthy diet, or studies showing that both sunlight and walking clearly increase survival rates. This must change! The truth about other avenues to beating cancer must be explored and made widely known.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
1) Expand & develop my current "Beat Cancer" website: www.mindswell.org/beatcancer. 2) Finish editing the documentary Audrey & I were making about her fight against cancer. 3) Post the film on YouTube and Google Video, as an outreach beacon to other patients. 4) Encourage patients, doctors and cancer survivors from around the world to submit their own videos and written stories, to be displayed on the "Beat Cancer" website. The idea is to bring individual patients, healers and survivors together to share knowledge and save lives. Working together, we can Beat Cancer!

Q1: A year after my soulmate Audrey was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, she astounded her doctors by going into complete remission! She was cured! Feeling invincible, she reverted back to her old habits of fast food, cigarettes, soda and alcohol. Her cancer came back, and she died in my arms in May 2007. I believe her death could've been prevented if she had stuck with the healthy lifestyle and alternative treatments which had cured her. I have dedicated my life to finding the truth about which treatments work, and which don't. If you have any comments on alternative treatments that have worked for you, or someone you know, please send me the information.

You like it. You’re confused by it. You want to know more. Ask questions and post comments here.
Post a commentI like your idea; I want to improve your odds of getting funding I will vote for your idea if you will vote for mine. My idea is for a web site that raises money for inventors and entrepreneurs called New Idea website Check out my idea blob submission and visit New Idea Website and see what I can do for you. http://www.ideablob.com/ideas/4060-NEW-IDEA-WEBSITE The need for jobs is one of the biggest problems that a democratic government faces because creating jobs is an unwanted byproduct of business and industry. The reason I say its unwanted is the more jobs a business creates the more its expenses are and the smaller it’s bottom-line. If business and industry have their way they would run their companies with no jobs at all no management or labor. To deal with this dilemma I pr…moreopose a federal venture capital carrot fund that literally pays entrepreneurs to create jobs. The investment bank would be expected invest in seed level startup projects like yours and to lose money at a specified dollar per jobs ratio for example during hard times that figure may be as high as $20,000 per job and good times the figure may be as low as five dollars per job, by controlling this ratio the fed could roughly control unemployment. The bank will be expected to fund novel products and services and stay away from things like restaurants that will simply draw jobs from other restaurants or moving factories from one part of the country to another. If you like this idea vote for it and send the congressional letter from the website. Sincerely Frank Scruggs
How do I vote for you???
Seth, I too have watched how the cancer treatments wear the body down. I agree that there are other ways to help. Keep up the good work you are doing, as it could help many. Possibly Audrey gave up her life to help others.
Seth you are truly an inspiration. I know Audrey is proud of you! What a beautiful woman she was!
Great idea! I'm so sorry you've lost someone so dear to you. She would be very proud of what you're doing!
vitamin b17 is a great against cancer. It is found in apple seeds, and other foods.
All the best on your mission in life. I'm sorry for the impetus for it, but applaud you for dedicating your life to making a difference for so many others.
Great idea. I have a sister who has a brain tumor. I have been one of her main caregivers for as long as I can afford to stay in Oregon (from CA). She has a Naturalpath who has put her on a raw fruits and veggies diet. We will be starting PORTOCEL this week as the doctors have said there is nothing more they can do. She has refused chemo and radiation and has lived longer than expected. Let meknow once your site is up and running! To read my sister's story, go to: www.help-phyllis.com . Thanks and good luck!
My name is Doug and I'm currently in competition with you for this week's sprint on here with my Brewed by You idea. However the outcome of this sprint, I would like to say that I always support improvement in cancer research and information. So I have thrown a vote your way. Good luck tonight and no matter what happens keep your heart in it for the people. We need more people like you and I out there fighting for the cause.
i had to vote. i was sitting here, 2 in the morning, browsing craigslist, thinking about how much i miss my girlfriend. She visits me once a week on the weekends and her leaving 6 hours ago left me feeling unusually down and lonely, but i realize that being able to see her at all is a blessing in it itself. After reading this i will cherish my time with her even more. all the best to you, and good luck.
oh yes I forgot like ussual :-) maybe when I got my Free Book completed then we can refer links to each other. If your interested send me an email at hstutterheim@gmail.com
Hi, I have Malignant Brain Cancer Astrocytoma II & III degree, I guess i am lucky in a my way because I was told I will die, and there was no false hope... Sorry to hear about your wife, I have no idea how breast cancer works. Pschycology and Belief in God is my survival story... I accepted my death, when i think of my problem, then i get attacks, but when I ignore it my life continues like normal.. Humour also works, like my short term memory, i get to watch movies again and again and I have already forgot half the movie :-)
They recently had a segment on Oprah where people - specifically a young woman - have been able to put themselves in remission via diet etc. I know this is similar to the experience you've had with your partner, but it might be interesting to watch that episode. It certainly inspired me to blend veggie juices for myself on a daily basis (in addition to smoothies).
Your idea has brought tears to my eyes and I'm sorry for your loss. I too lost my mom to breast cancer a couple of years ago. Cancer is so prevalent these days, but I've heard that the big ($$$) industry of chemotherapy prevents alternative methods of treating cancer impossible (It's like Monsanto--only in the health department). I think your idea will be so valuable to so many people. You have my vote! natalie - the earth garden project

Seth, what an amazing story. I know that you are right; our health truly depends on our diets. I feel like reading this was a message to take better care of myself! I'm so very sorry this happened. You are an amazing, kind, thoughtful person. Maybe we'll be able to help you finish your documentary. And I know that the Table will be a great resource for you once you move back to LA. With love and respect, Cindy
