Convertible Ankle Boot/Heels
Darn Fly shoes would start small with a 300 pair line of a convertible ankle boot which can be worn with or without a detachable/interchangeable top (similar to "spats"). I will continue my support of unemployment programs for women by donating several pairs each season for their interviews
Q1: The challenge would be to create a clear and concise explanation so that the average person can understand how the convertible ankle wrap is utilized. There will be an ankle wrap included with the initial purchase and two other color choices (such as leopard print or red) will be sold separately. I would like any comments on that illustration and whether or not it is clear as to the function of the ankle wrap. It is much like a spat but is shorter and zips up against the inner side of the shoe. Thanks for viewing my idea.
Idea Description
My idea has been a four year goal to have a small shoe line and expand it using the initital profit. The convertible ankle boot would come with a basic black bottom and three unique interchangeable ankle wraps to choose from. It can be worn with one of the interchangeable wraps or as a step in heel. The boot comes with a black ankle wrap. Two ankle wraps of different colors/patterns would be sold separately for a much lower price than buying another pair of shoes. Allowing the customer to save money while having four different looks. This reminds people how to reuse an item instead of purchasing a new one. What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
The first would be to have a website built then manufacture the shoes. I have sourced a manufacturer for this design which would cost $8,000 for 300 pairs. The estimate includes shipping but excludes importing fees. Next, I would market the line by advertising in magazines and on the internet. The shoes would be sold at retail price on our e-commerce website and at wholesale price to boutiques/stores. The unique interchangeable aspect should be appealing to women who want to accessorize and match their outfits but are also conscious of their budget. In the future, I plan on adding more styles to choose from for the interchangeable ankle straps as well as shoes for men, children and babies.
