Q1: This is a start-up so there are a lot of challenges. With a strong business background I hope that with your help I can make this a reality. That said the first major challenge I am foreseeing is financially based. The second is drawing up a business plan that will get a lot of attention.
Idea Description
Many consumers are becoming aware that growing a sustainable future can be started in their very own household. Whether it is by using environmentally friendly cleaning supplies or simply using CFL bulbs we are seeing an increasing interest in "green" products in our homes. However what we are not seeing is what a demand this is creating for a store that sells these products and services exclusively. Therefore my idea is to open a retail store that carries cleaning supplies, apparel, furniture, and other appliances that promote the sustainability of our planet.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
To further this important initiative I will assemble a team of people who have the same drive and determination as I do about this idea. We will all work together to develop a business plan that we can pitch to companies that make sustainable products and services. Next we will build up our network by traveling to conferences, seminars and other events that promote building a sustainable future.

Thank you for your advice. The issue with Home Depot and the other stores mentioned is that they aren't selling the green experience. The stores are not friendly to the environment. Part of my idea is to have a building that is friendly to the environment as well. In my mind uniqueness builds exclusivity and both are the foundation for differentation which I believe is essential for business success. - lcruz
