Self Powered Gym
Self Powered Gym
Idea Description
Most popular gym equipment use a flywheel as part of its general mechanics: ellipticals, rowing machines, treadmills, bikes, and others use tension or pulleys. The object of the gym is to harness this energy to make the gym self sufficient. Attaching high efficiency electric generators onto the exercise equipment and building a gym that is efficient with solar, etc. the gym could be off the grid and self sustaining. You could reward gym members by tracking their wattage output with benefits and bonuses.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
outfit popular workout equipment with the energy generators and prove the concept.
Vote for it now.

Q1: Effectively capturing the energy output. Discovering the minimum about of energy needed to keep the lights on, etc.
Great concept. Have you dug deep into the market-place to determine whether gyms for adults has the best chance of adaptation?
Have you thought about gyms in schools & universities? Is it possible that the youth market would readily embrace the concept as they have in these instances:
-- connect a bike to an electric generator

-- use a sea saw to lift heavy items

-- use a merry-go-round to power a ventilation system

Have you heard of the Energy Park Project developed by STUDENTS & TEACHERS in Malaysia?
