PeaceNet is a living library of sustainable living solutions.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
The $10K would help fund the establishment of a "Chamber of Culture" to compliment the Chamber of Commerce, by financing educational art/music events with our community partners. These events will help us gain credibility to apply for some major grants to fund the construction of a Cultural Center. One of the missions of the Cultural Center will be to localize our resource (human, food, energy) base, through education and facilitating collaboration. Our educational events use art, music and food to bring people together. Accessing the diverse communities within the larger community, these events help to identify solutions and build off of what has proven to be effective.

Q1: Right now the main challenge is funding. We have a small group of people ready to dedicate their lives to creating a culture of peace, but we are all experiencing some form of financial hardship and our peace building time is limited.

They are a very similar organization based out of Boston, and they do very well for themselves. They always have events, and many of these events are for the purpose of fundraising. I personally know some of the people in the organization, and they're so incredibly nice. I guarantee they would lend you a hand.
You're in a good "industry," if you'll excuse the term, because in this line of work, there is no competition. Even if you're in a room with a dozen organizations just like yours, you all have the same, selfless goal. This is why I feel that Students 4 Peace, among other similar organizations, will have no problem helping you out.
Good luck!
