"Coffe-house/Sports bar" (non-alcoholic) hang-out for teens; aka: good clean fun facility!
Idea Description
Create a "Coffee-house" / "Sports-bar" (non-alcoholic) environment. It will have nice decor inside and fun things to do outside (shoot hoops, batting cages, place to throw football, etc...) for teens to gather with friends. To make enough profit to pay expenses, have a snack bar, some video games, vending machines, and a jukebox. The idea is not to make money, but give the teens a great place to gather and enjoy good clean fun.

Q1: Watch start-up expenses very carefully - but if managed properly, it should pay for itself once up and running...

I know lately there's been a surge in coffee drinking teens. However, I don't think it's been deemed socially acceptable. Not that I'm a tree hugging nature lover but I think a new spin on an old concept would be all organic snack shop or implementing a "Green" concept into your business. Since profit isn't your top priority, you should be able to keep your pricing very competitive and maybe undercut your competition. On another note, parents will be willing to dish out a little more dough for their kids' food if there is more of a nutritional value than you get in a bag of Salty Snaks.
This is a perpetual possibility--I remember attempts at this when I was a teen, 35+years ago? It's very difficult. Good luck.
