Positively Impacting The World By Positively Impacting Children
Idea Description
It has been proven by countless studies that children who receive positive verbal reinforcement in both academia, and in home development - produce greater results in every area of their lives as they grow into young adults and go on into adulthood. My idea is based on this simple, yet fundamental principal. My vision is to develop a Teddy Bear that is given to a child at a young age that speaks positive things to the child based on touch/ interaction. Powered by a internal digital file player - the Teddy Bear can be updated using iTunes to download series of positive sayings prerecorded to accomplish specific developmental goals at various stages of life. www.ipositivebear.com
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
If I were to win the 10K I would use it to Incorporate the developing company (Sapien Harbor www.sapienharbor.com) and build out a prototype of the Teddy Bear for the purpose of evangelizing the Teddy Bears application to industry leaders. I would trademark the name of the bear which is completely cunning and descriptive. I would invest into further research concerning positive verbal reinforcement to insure that the phrases spoken by the Teddy Bear were not only positive but also strategically planned to give the child a solid foundation for health development and advancement. www.ipositivebear.com
Vote for it now.
In response to Advice Given by: lorax - The device that would be used would not be an iPod "per say" - BUT a scaled down version of one that was able to be updated or accept data from iTunes, iTunes would simply be the "storage house" for the media being used with the bear. The idea is to have libraries of sayings that parents could tap into for specific developmental stages. This is indeed a for-profit venture - However; my team is big into giving back so we are researching organizations to affiliate with for charitable causes. One will be Charity Water for sure - Thanks!!
Seems like an updated version of Teddy Ruckspin
I can remember Teddy Ruxpin - The main difference between the 80's wonder and this "solution" is that Teddy Ruxpin was mainly designed to be a Storyteller - AWESOME Idea - BUT this concept takes that leaps further. For now we will call it the IPB - has one specific mission "Positive Reinforcement". And with the advent of digital media - Doctors and Child Development Specialist can take an active part in developing content for the IPB thus the channel for download on iTunes...
I love the concept, you being the brand expert could do some very cool things to position your bear and target some very specific markets to jump start the project.
Hey! Thanks hflemings!! That means leaps coming from you!! We are excited about this project and what it can accomplish!!
Wow! I LOVE this idea! And you are so right that kids need positive reinforcement at an early age. We founded the Mosaic Theatre Company (here in Los Angeles) which teaches self-esteem and positive self image by means of an interactive musical that we perform for elementary ages kids. They learn the songs (Like "I am my own best friend") which engrains these positive messages into their heads at an early age. I love what you are doing. If you are starting any kind of an email list, I'd love to be notified when it's available! Please add ideas@cindybaer.com to the email list. Thanks! PS-- Please feel free to check out our Sponsor an Artist idea that we submitted, and leave a comment if you feel compelled. We also feel that art is important at any age. People need positive …moreways to express themselves, or it comes out negatively. Thanks for making a positive difference in the world!
