KnowledgeBase: A software program that captures all internal knowledge within a company or organization.
Idea Description
Imagine sitting down at a new job and being able to pick up exactly where the last person who held that position left off. This is what KnowledgeBase enables employees to accomplish. Instead of wasting time and resources training an individual to do a job, just have them log into the KnowledgeBase software. The software will contain all of the jobs within the company, from the high executives to the lower level accountants. It will then contain outlines, flow charts, and a detailed explanation of how to do all tasks associated with the job. Most importantly, a user can add improvements to any task or duty right into the program, so that the next person will not make the same mistakes.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
The 10k will be used to hire a programmer to begin writing the code so that a beta version can be published. The layout and function of the program have been designed and a beta version will allow us to test and improve.

Q1: Is there a service we can attach to the software that will force companies to buy our product instead of having their IT team create it for them?
Well the point of this is for use in individual companies so that they can capture and protect the internal knowledge of their own company, ie, how to submit an accounting entry to the general ledger. I would be weary of a wiki type site because then the information would be available to everyone. I am thinking more along the lines of creating a wiki type environment that can only be accessed by employees of the company. That way it can be geared to the specific duties and processes within the company.
Why not just set up a wiki? Just like the online wikipedia, you can get shareware to build your own internal knowledge base. (See wiki.org to get started.) Sorry - it's here already and in use in many companies.
