Q1: Could we get the government to support a bill offering new homes capable of supporting a thousand square foot solar roof some tax relief for solar roof orientation that the utility could take advantage of?
Idea Description
Create a startup utility to install and maintain solar roofs on existing buildings with large roofs such as barns, churches and government buildings where the roof orientation is already adequate. Utility would sell power to Power companies at current renewable electricity rate.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
Borrow additional funds for a first installation for proof of concept. I can probably get most or all additional money from people I already know, given support at this level. I think that with a working proof of concept, I could get sufficient backing to cover another nine roofs, and that this would be adequate to allow continued expansion using our own resources.

I'm sure you could lobby to get a tax credit for building a home that is better capable of saving energy than normal. You already get a tax credit when you buy energy star appliances I think.
