Cartography- customize your car's ceiling and walls again and again.
Idea Description
Easy application wallpaper for your car. Now you can change the walls and ceiling of your car as often as you change your mind. Choose from solid colors, patterns such as stripes, plaid, or hawaiian print, or even more off the wall designs like clouds or roadmaps, or design your own. Made from lightweight plastic, the wall "paper" shrinks to fit your car and adheres with a heatgun, ideally a "ShrinkyDink"-like material. The wallpaper also removes easily and cleanly. Think art camp for adults. Cartography would expand upon the personalization of automobiles that has become prevalent in the twenty first century through ideas such as Scion, BMW Bugs, and "Pimp my Ride".
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
The money would be invested in research and development of a product prototype. We would create a business plan for cost effective manufacturing. Specifically this idea would be solidified with the consul of materials experts, engineers, and financial advisors. We would then shop the **** out of the prototype to car companies, distributers, fashion designers, and, of course, your mom.

I like it. I am imagining wild patterns. Are you an artist?
ha! actually I am. I think my car will have a collage of materials stuck into the plastic. Beads, photos, spoons, putting the floor of the car on the ceiling. Or maybe try to make the inside look like something out of the Royal Tenenbaums.
There are wild cars like that all over the streets in New Orleans. Looks like you got some good advice.
this sounds pretty awesome. i can imagine a lot of potential for other uses of the product beyond cars too. like kids in college dorms who can't paint their walls and need temp decals. and, yeah, various everything else that needs more decoration in life. when designing the product, it'd be worthwhile to consider whether you want the material to be able to be written on with pens or markers for further potential customization.
pennylaine, you've inspired me to go buy a car! **** my carbon footprint!
you know me. and i dont know why i just did this.
ooh yea! i can already see a kaleidoscope of patterns and designs id like to use in my car. You would be a big hit at car shows
I know you? hmm... me laine? or not me laine. I know why you did it! cause its an awesome idea... pttthh!
