LinkEducation: Bringing the Education Movement Together
LinkEducation: Bringing the Education Movement Together
Idea Description
Did you know that there are over 1,400 public schools and 5,000 education-focused organizations in New York City alone? Did you know that most people don't even know what programs operate in their community or even their own school? How can our city's children, teachers, or parents take advantage of the many FREE resources if they don't know they exist? LinkEducation (www.linkeducation.org) makes it possible for anyone and everyone (parents, students, teachers, nonprofit leaders, etc) to find education-related resources in their communities. We believe that by working together and empowering people, we can make it possible for all children to have access to excellent education opportunities.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
If we win $10k, we will be able continue maintaining this website and bring people together in person. So far we've been able to build the first version of the website, but we need additional funds to ensure it can continue to grow and develop as the word spreads. $10k allows us to enhance search features, conduct more outreach to low-income communities, and hold a "resource expo" to showcase in person the many programs and resources on our site. In a few years we hope to expand to other cities and make it possible for communities across the country to access education opportunities. $10k will definitely help us get one step closer to that goal.

What a worthwhile cause!
This will be a very interesting and useful website. I hope it will become a website that can serve all the country, not only NYC. I am interested in taking part in your team and helping build a Boston version of linkEd.
my vote is cast... any reason why it is so hard to figure out who is winning??? this site has so many cool tools but it is hard to figure out how they work (or do they actually work?). all my 'votes' say zero... go linked!
Excellent website, and fantastic idea! Our children are our future, and education should be brought more to the forefront. Best of luck to you!!
Great Idea, Keep an eye out for the renegadeCEO's, we will deffinately want to beshowcased in your site!
Good Luck LinkEd!!!!
The strategy of expanding locally first and then spreading out to other cities is a good one. It exemplifies a steady and systemmatic growth pattern. Avoid falling prey to the idea of haphazard growth across the nation. Great need identified and a great product to serve that need! Good Luck!
The leaders behind the movement (Anna and Rachel) are passionate people and they have an amazing board - furthermore, connecting an education movement is an idea long overdue! Go LinkEducation!
I wish you all the best in this competition. You have my vote. natalie - the earth garden project.
