Education of people is very noble, in addition the newspaper can also educate people how to file lawsuits against individuals and these organizations for the damages done to countless people so that a few can make money for their own living. You have brought out many ideas and drives people and organizations are doing to make people aware. However, parallel to this is what do we do as a REFORM. The congressmen still aren't aware of how bad the current situation is. Don't know if you realize it but the Last week in April is Child Abuse Awareness Week, which coincidentally is just before Foster Care Awareness Month. The congressional approval recognizing Child Abuse Week came up last year and I believe it passed with close to 100% approval. Guess what figures of child abuse were given by the Child Protective Agencies. Consider this simple rule. It takes 10 atta boys to cancel 1 a sh*T. The latter being a report of child abuse. So that means we need to look for 10 positive things that are helping families. Please send me one. I …morebet you that this is pretty hard. I see so many articles on abuse situations. To me this just adds fuel to the fire to support why the agency must remain in existence. Not to mention, over shadows on what we as parents can do to protect our families. My vision is a simple one "Parents raise Families, Not Laws" This is not meant to put lawyers out of business. But is meant to remind everyone that Parents need to be recognized as the most important person to raise a family. Are there any laws that can truly direct the complex issues of families?? Currently, Parents have no rights. As a matter of fact there is an Assembly women in California who wants to ban spanking. Just another example of how the pendulum is swinging and trying to change the definition of Child Abuse. When in actuality, most states have laws that define true child abuse. Plus Child Protective Agencies have been very lax in the documenting if abuse really exists. Simply put, if someone says and or reports a abusive situation, which may have never happened, the agency takes the stand, "If it could have happened, it probably did" This is probably a major reason there is an 80% rate of false allegations. Not to mention, most of the time, the agency takes the attitude, we don't have the time to fully document, so we will pull the child and fill in the details later. Question, why remove the child, why not remove the abuser? You mentioned Senator Schaeffer. She is a very brave lady. However, since again I mention, our Legislators only see abuse, and she had to pull her bill the first time since her colleagues slashed and burned the meaningful parts. Mainly the idea of trying to abolish Child Services. After all, we all know they are the Leaders in Protecting our children. NOT. She has personally asked members of our group, NFPCAR-National Foster Parent Coalition for Allegation Reform for many ideas on Reform. Yes, I was a Foster Parent who was falsely accused. Did a recent poll with Foster Parents and Found out that 85% where also bio and/or adoptive parents. So how do our laws handle these parents, since there is a separation of legal avenues dealing with bio or foster parents. How does that help mentioning that there is 6 times more abuse with Foster Parents. Bet you didn’t know that nationally 76;000 Foster Parents were leaving the system. I recently received a letter written by our State Director in Florida about the role she played as a Foster Parent. Will be putting this on the Florida State Page as soon as I receiver her permission. Her main fault that led to her false allegations was that she cared too much for her children and defended the children as to their proper care. Bottom line, Child Protective Services, do not want Foster Parents who care, but ones that will just baby sit these children for a while. Sorry to be so lengthy, but I urge you to please balance your paper with reforms and ideas that have worked for families. Each time a child is removed whether abuse was present or false, this has severe emotional consequences on the child for their present and future development. David Hyatt, Ohio - What is truly sad is that nobody appreciates just how outrageous and egregious the "family law" business is and to what depths it has sunk. The mainstream media does not wish to spawn controversy with the truth so the efforts to dedicate a newspaper with wide circulation is to be commended. For the sake of our children, families and nation the heinous activities paid for with mis-appropriated social security $$$ must stopped and the bureaucrats held accountable. State Family Courts across the nation are out of control. Kidnapping children and placing them with strangers, seperating fit parents from there children after divorce or when the parents were never married, all for money! We need to fight the terrorists within our borders rather than sending our children to foreign soil to fight for ideals which "they" doen't even have here at home.

Child protection services is a sham. They say they are protecting children from their family by placing them with strangers. What they are doing is placing children in a much greater abusive situation where the children have no one they know or can trust to turn to when they are truly being abused. The sad truth is that parents can't protect their children from the abuse of CPS. So many of these children are being protected to death. There is no system protecting good parents and their children from a system that is so far out of control that children are being abused simply by being removed from loving and caring parents. Any outrageous excuse can be used with nothing to prove that allegation is in anyway true. No doubt that the system is in need of an overhaul. It is clear that you are passionate about this subject and that you have significant experience with it. I too am involved with the Forster Care system and Guardians. I've seen the abuse and I'm aware of the fact that quite a few Foster Family providers are in it for the money. That is sad but true. I question your finding of 80% of those placed in Foster care not being necessary. That figure is not realistic! I don't believer for one minute that children are being placed in Forster care just so that the people administering the system can have a job. Judges place children in Foster care because they need to be there either temporarily or more permanently. Pursue that until you are successful. The citizens of this country are in need of enlightenment on this subject and this would be a great vehicle to do just that. The CASA worker was the one making most of the complaints, but this time others on the scene, therapists and such, did not see what she saw. She was taken off of the case by the judge. The judge for 22 months, has refused to terminate rights, but DHS keeps asking

DHS wanted us to get a divorce after we have been married for 20 years, now 21 in order to get our daughter back! Dont think that is going to happen. jlibascifl1, I am not denying that there is child abuse. The 80% figure I gave is true, once ALL the facts were obtained. Please note, this was a concern and recommendation given by California Blue Ribbon Commission on Children in Foster Care (http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/jc/tflists/bluerib.htm). If one reads the report, you can see that many times this was said, in addition the Courts did not have enough time to review cases and/or there were inexperienced judges to handle case. You also say many Parents are in it for the money. But I consider this occupation can be a high risk situation and one may have to work 24/7. Not to mention for the last 5 years 76,000 Foster Parents have been quitting nationally on the average. Another point for your consideration. Last year congress passed…more, almost unanimously to make the last week in April Child Abuse Awareness week. And we all know Foster Appreciation Month is in May. Coincidence??? Yes there are many caring Foster Parents and I am appreciative for that. However, my colleague, who works with many Parents Nationally had these case come across her desk: 1. a baby falling asleep in his high chair, 2. a mother feeding her five children McDonald's five times in one week, 3.time out for misbehavior deemed to long a time by an unmarried single social worker who has no children of her own, 4. removing TV privileges from an unruly child, 5.and taking a teens bicycle helmet away from her and she having to walk a half mile to school on a country road with her friends. _*All these things are now child abuse. Remember, she has personally SEEN the documentation on these charges So how far has the pendulum swung in the name of protecting our children, with CPS as the Child Protector?? CPS has kidnapped two of my grand children. I have been fighting them for two years trying to get custody or guardianship of both babies. They would rather sell them than let the grand parents have them. I can't believe all of the lies that they come up with, and then have the nerve to say they are professionals!! What a joke!!
