Idea Description
I work downtown, I give to the homeless. However, I have a problem with the smell of urine as I walk to work. I can understand why businesses don't let the homeless use their facilities, and I can see where portajohns could be problematic. Enter "Habitat FROM Humanity". Made from the same material that HAZMAT teams spread over biohazardous spills, porous bags filled with these pellets are dispersed in downtown areas where homeless go to relieve themselves. Once used, these units harden like bricks that can be retrieved by Public Works to be used to construct shelters for the homeless.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
I would use the $10K to take time off to lobby up in Austin for the creation of a social program to reward the homeless for participation, and to administer the distribution, retrieval and utilization of the bricks for the construction of shelters for the homeless.
Vote for it now.

Q1: Although the biohazardous aspect of the proposed end product would be neutralized by the chemical makeup of the contained pellets, an efficient retrieval method would be key to the success of the program.
hah, that is clever! YOu mean the homeless people would be living in structures made of their own urine? Very clever! Urine bricks!
honestly, bro, this idea seems to feed into the problem more than help homeless people.
