Q1: The #1 challenge HeartSprings faces is communicating the need and receiving the funding to serve the literally millions of people who live daily without access to safe water to drink in the western hemisphere. Contaminated water affects health and hygiene.
Idea Description
1.1 billion people in the world do not have access to safe water to drink. 6000 children die every day because of water related diseases. 4 million avoidable deaths occur each year because of lack of safe water to drink. There is a solution. HeartSprings International Ministries has develop a model for community transformation that employs a portable chlorine generating system that can disinfect nearly 25,000 gallons of contaminated water every 12 hours. The HeartSprings system chemically cracks table salt to produce chlorine that destroys 99% of all biological contaminants. It is presently employed in over 40 communities in Guatemala, providing safe water to nearly 60,000 homes.

$10k would enable HeartSprings to expand her present efforts to include the more than 200 communities in Guatemala and more 1000 villages in southern Mexico that are requesting and require a safe water system.
