Cell phones for moving files
Cell phones for moving files
Idea Description
Why have another USB device to move files? A cell phone should do fine.
In fact, even wirelessly using either infrared port of using a usb cord of some sort. Obviously, software would be needed on the PC to recognize the device.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
Build this feature to support existing devices so that my device works.
Vote for it now.

bluetooth technology allows you to do this already. Most new computers and computers in general have bluetooth capability now and jsut about every cell phone does as well. if your computer doesn't have bluetooth capabilities you can buy a USB dongle for 15 to 30$ and use that. Also if you are talking about larger files or excel sheets or papers thats the same idea. you can use the memory card in the cell phone (if you ahve a card reader on your computer which most do nowadays) and fill that up and put it back into your phone for transport. Also one more addition. why use a cell phone when you could buy a 2 gig flash drive for 20$ which would be much less hassel and would be able to be used on any computer that has a usb port. Sorry to trounce your idea.
Hi, I'm not sure what accessories are delivered with the mobile phones in the US, in Germany you get now a days also a USB cable, to us the mobile as a modem. Then in the settings menu of my Samsung D900 I can set the USB from modem connection to FileSystem, which allows me then to access the file system on the microSD card exclusively from the PC. Well I don't want to make advertisement, and your idea is a good idea, but I'm sorry that is "state-of-art". I'm sure that many other (modern) mobile phones support this feature already. Some thinking into another direction with mobile file managment: http://www.seagate.com/docs/pdf/marketing/po_DAVE.pdf Best Regards
