there's another brand out there: harmony yoga mats. they don't use PVC or toxic substances. they also plant trees for every yoga mat they sell. however, most of these are expensive. perhaps there could be an advantage on price, quality, products, manufacturing, ethics, etc.?
I think this would be a great product since Yoga is so popular!

Nike also makes a non-slip yoga mat.
This already exists. Try using a "Mysore rug". Its a woven rug that sits on top of your regular yoga mat. Not only is it non-slip, it is very durable so you wont be throwing away your shredded rubber mat anymore.
